Activists now say that at least 27 demonstrators have died in Hama today, as Syrian security forces crakced down on protests. Today is one of the bloodiest days of the 11-week revolt against Bashar al-Assad's rule.

The Facebook page for LCC reports that more than 25 have been wounded by gunfire in the city of Deir Azzour, including many critical injuries in the chest area. Sources say up to eight protesters have died after security forces shot into crowds.
